Dehne Topfpflanzen is one of Germanys largest producers of protected ornamental plants such as bedding and pot plants, with a great reputation for producing the best. Our aim is to offer products that are best quality and excellent value for money. We are able to achieve this having developed and invested in highly mechanised and efficient production and logistic systems over more than 40 years. Our team of professional growers always takes care of our products until the plants are supplied to our main distribution channels: flowerauction houses, wholesale markets, retailers, garden centres, nurseries and other professional growers.

Established in 1966 our company has grown into one of Germanys leading producers of protected ornamental plants. The company is based in Wiesmoor, northern part of Germany.
Today our plants are grown in four greenhouse operations with a total area of 18 acres (7.5 hectares) of higly mechanised and climate controlled greenhouse production on a total surface of 44 acres (18 hectares).
Our principal nursery is one of the most technologically advanced nurseries in Germany, with around 10 acres of highly mechanised glasshouses using the latest greenhouse technologies.
Dehne Topfpflanzen is a fast growing company. Since 2003 we have built 12,000 square metres (1.2 hectares) of new greenhouses. In 2006 we have bought our fourth greenhouse operation with a total area of 14,000 square metres (1.4 hectares).
Innovative fuel use has allowed the company to double its area under glass in the last years. By using an intelligent combination of energy sources, Dehne Topfpflanzen aims to reduce costs for heating and electricity. The company already uses solar energy and eight combined heat and power (CHP) units burning gas and plant oil.
The latest addition to this suite of sources is a biogas plant, which came into service in 2007. Locally grown maize is fed in and digested anaerobically, and the methane released is burnt in two CHP units which produces electricity and heats water which is stored in a 250,000 litre buffer tank before being pumped around the glasshouses.
With our partners we grow more than 250 million individual plants a year which are then sold via different distribution channels of the Landgard organisation to wholesale markets, retailers, garden centres, nurseries and professional growers.
